Now that we've covered the basics, let's move on to the next step: brainstorming ideas for your corporate event. This is where the real fun begins!
Some examples of activities which are often included at a corporate event are things like;
- Large Scale Team Building Activities such as team games, knockout challenges or crystal maze style events
- Game Zones - with fair and circus type games for all attendees to try
- Photo Booths
- Silent Discos
- Live Music from Bands or DJ's
- Outdoor Activities such as Segway Racing or Bubble Football
- Laser Questing or Paint Balling
These sorts of activities offer fantastic opportunities for employees to interact with each other in a fun and relaxed environment.
If you are thinking about including some activities at your event, we suggest doing some research to see what will be most popular and enjoyable for your attendees that fit in with your event theme.
Whoever your Corporate Event is aimed at consider how you will market the event to them.
An internal event run for the employees of a business can have compulsory attendance or you could give your employees the option as to whether they wish to attend.
Think about how you can raise interest in the event and what can you use internally to attract them do you have an internal communications system that you can advertise on or can you take advantage of notice board areas across the business to advertise what is happening.
Should this be an external business event the marketing tactics will have to be different, if you are launching a new product range you may be able to rely on your existing customer lists to attract attendance or if you have a trade event you may have the benefit of the network of suppliers you work with who would be happy to attend.
Some things you need to think about when planning the details of your event include:
- How will information be conveyed during the event? Will there be presentations, guest speakers or attendee workshops?
- How will there be social interaction during the event? Will there be opportunities for networking or team building activities?
- What kind of audio visual needs do you have for the event? This is where things like deciding on a theme, researching ideas for what to put together and employing an event designer to help create an event vision come in.
This may involve thinking outside the box - after all, boring events are forgettable events! - but with a little creativity, you can come up with something truly unique that your guests will be talking about long after the event is over.
So there you have it! These are just a few ideas to get you started on creating a vision for your corporate event. We hope this has been helpful and we hope you are well on your way to planning a corporate event that will be remembered for years to come.
