You Need To Get Your Corporate Event Date Right
This is such an important part of the Corporate Event and can make or break the success of the Event itself and whether you will meet its objectives.
The timing of the date of the Corporate Event will be affected by the Event Stakeholders and their requirements, these will be both internal and external.
Of course, the stakeholders will be impacted by the type of attendees to the Corporate Event and whether these are the Public, Clients or Employees working at the Company.
• Get The Date Right For Your Business
The date of the Corporate Event should be at the right time for the business most importantly.
Your Corporate Event needs to be held during the optimum dates considering your business requirements and budget expectations.
If the Corporate Event is being organised in house there may be a dedicated team who work on Events full time or there may be a temporary ad-hoc team who have put together to work on the Event and their roles are being backfilled, the date would need to coincide with them going back to their day jobs where there are budget limitations.
• Business Product Launches or Achievements
If the Corporate Event is being organised for a Product Launch the timings may be in line with a Marketing Plan where viable dates have been prescribed that need to be met.
The Business may be celebrating a Business Achievement and the date could be held on an Anniversary to reflect this.
In terms of productivity there may need to be consideration given to a certain date or range of dates that avoid a busy time of year for sale or productivity such as the lead up to Christmas when sales for the year are at their highest.
• Seasonality of Corporate Event
The time of year may have some influence on the type of Corporate Event you are planning, a summer fair being held outside with a funfair and outside entertainment would need to be held during warmer months whilst an indoor conference comprising of a number of speakers and presentations can easily be held during autumn or winter.
Timings for the Corporate Event will also be affected by the time of year, if there is an event spanning several days you should think about the start and end times of the days, you may prefer for your Corporate Event attendees to leave when the nights are not so dark.
Holding your Corporate Event on a date in the winter months may work out cheaper than the summer months when hire costs are lower for venues, this could have a positive impact on your budgeting and you may wish to allocate these savings to spend on another area of the Corporate Event.

The industry your Business operates within may have some baring on the timing of your Corporate Event, if you work within Sports you will have to find dates that don’t coincide with summer sporting Events for example.
There may be organised events that occur at certain times of the year that you prefer not to clash with your event, these could be Industry specific Conferences or Exhibitions or Corporate Events being held by your competitors.
Do your research to suss out your competitors who may be soon launching a product or service at the same time as you.
You will want your Corporate Event to stand out and be memorable not one that follows on from another similar event and yours be an afterthought.
